When destiny brings brings the demon

Sima Jiao is the only name I know. I wished he knew my name and my forehead but sadly I live in the human plane called America. I had zero and I mean zero expectations. I recently finished Feud was tired of Xianxia dramas because I have the hardest time following the plot and the reason. But this show has reinvigorated my love of Cdramas, my fixation on learning new plots and ideas and feelings of love that manifest between two people in the sky. I am new to both actors and that helped me go into this drama with a clean slate. I only knew Arthur Chen from Lighter and Princess and please do not hate me when I say this, I did not like Lighter and Princess. Because that is his biggest drama to date, I was already on the fence about him, but you cannot judge a book by their previous work. He is amazing. I do not know if it is that his acting has gotten better, the storyline was better suited for his style, or he just had more chemistry with his costar, but all the stars aligned and now I have a new favorite. Now onto the cutey Liao Ting Yan. She was the perfect match for his coldness because it was not overdone.

The cutey pie ray of sunshine act is played a lot in dramas, especially when the male lead is supposed to be this nonchalant aloof character, but I’m not going to lie that is usually what turns me off real quick (I’m looking at you Wifty). She was the perfect blend of mature, sweet and over its character that I would expect from a millennial/gen z woman being transported to a world that for all intense and purposes should be fake. She was confused and she just wanted to relax with some tasty food. In the end she got war, turmoil, and a man. So, I would say it was worth it.

Please, I beg you to tune in. This drama should be released on Netflix or something because Arthur’s face alone would make these top ten shows. Overall, I have not found anything better to match my freak the way this show did.
